Ellipse IPL

Dissolve Filler Potomac

If you’re looking for an effective treatment to rejuvenate your skin and reclaim a more even skin tone, our Ellipse IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment may be the solution you’ve been waiting for. With its ability to remove pigmentation, diffuse redness, and leave the skin feeling smoother and more even in texture, the Ellipse IPL stands in a class of its own. Treatment is effectively carried out with the technology of the Nordlys™ system to meet a variety of skin needs.

How does the Ellipse IPL work?

The Ellipse IPL uses narrowband technology defined by patented dual filters and sub-millisecond pulses for exceptional skin rejuvenation. Age spots and areas of hyper pigmentation are the result of an excess of melanin while diffuse redness is caused by dilated capillaries. Light from the Ellipse IPL is absorbed by the melanin in the treatment area. The resulting heat reaction breaks down the melanin. The light is also absorbed by the superficial blood vessels that are responsible for those unsightly splotches of redness in the skin. The Ellipse’s heat reaction coagulates the blood vessels, destroying the protein in the wall of the vessel and causing them to soften in appearance.

Furthermore, the laser also stimulates collagen production to help add youthful volume and elasticity. As an energy-based laser device, the Ellipse IPL is a true powerhouse treatment that provides excellent results for a range of skin types.

What skin conditions can be treated with the Ellipse IPL?

The Ellipse IPL is used for the treatment of sun damaged skin. The IPL laser treatment can be used for diffuse redness and pigmented lesions, such as hyper pigmentation, sunspots, and freckles.

How many Ellipse IPL sessions will I need?

Depending on your condition and its level of severity, multiple treatment sessions may be required to achieve desired results. On average, 1-3 treatments at 4-week intervals deliver great results. For optimum collagen stimulation, 6 treatments at 4-week intervals will typically be recommended. Our experienced team will go over your procedure in detail and discuss if additional sessions may be your best bet.

Is the Ellipse IPL safe?

The Nordlys system utilized to administer the Ellipse IPL has such a strong safety profile that there’s relatively low chance of it burning the skin. It uses exclusive technology to target problem areas with very narrow light beams, resulting in less heat on your skin, as well as fewer treatments compared to other IPLs.

The machine uses exclusive selective wavelength technology with dual filters to deliver narrowband IPL to targeted tissue, filtering out any potentially harmful wavelengths. The technology is so precise that there is very little wasted energy.
